I intended to watch this film recently but found myself losing focus at times. It begins with a bank robbery, which is predictable, carried out by two individuals using a fairly inventive and surprisingly calm approach—they initially secure the local police so they can’t interfere. However, after I regained my concentration, I realized I'd missed quite a bit of what happened. One moment these characters appeared to be friendly; the next, it seemed as though they disliked each other intensely. To be honest, I don’t believe that matters significantly. The storyline feels like just an opportunity for these two actors to enjoy themselves together. Even though I was often unsure of the events unfolding, I still found myself entertained for the most part (though I did get sidetracked a couple more times). The performers are Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington, and they seem to be treating their roles like kids playing, simply having a good time. It’s possible that if the story had been engaging and meaningful, this could have been an exceptional film—or perhaps it *was* interesting and worthwhile, but I just didn't notice because of my distractions. Ultimately, there are some memorable scenes and witty lines in this movie, even if you don’t concern yourself too much with what’s going on.
