The movie *’16 Blocks'* isn’t perfect, but it delivers an acceptable thriller – and I have to admit, I found it enjoyable. Bruce Willis and Mos Def work well together as Jack and Eddie. What stood out to me was Willis' appearance throughout most of the film; he convincingly embodies his character, a testament to both his acting ability and some effective makeup choices. Mos Def is dependable, though I recall being impressed by him in *’Dexter’*. Here, my opinion isn’t quite as high, mainly because of an occasionally irritating vocal delivery. Interestingly, David Zayas, who played Angel Batista on that Showtime series, also has a part in this film, which was a nice touch. David Morse is adequate as the villain, but I think they could have found someone even better for the role. The storyline doesn't offer many unexpected twists; it’s usually easy to guess where things are going. Also, and maybe it’s just me, there's a scene on a bus where it seems like Jack is about to reveal some major scheme, but it simply disappears without explanation. Despite those minor issues, I think most people will find the 105 minutes worthwhile – I certainly did.
