It's refreshing to see something outside of typical Bollywood tropes with 12th Fail. The film benefits from tight editing and impressive imagery as it recounts Manoj’s uplifting journey, portraying a student who repeatedly struggled with exams while facing judgment from those around him. What makes the movie work is how inspiring Manoj’s determination is, and its distinctive viewpoint highlights different ways to achieve success. Vikrant Massey delivers an excellent performance in the lead role, and the film thoughtfully examines the strain of academic expectations, offering some unexpected narrative choices along the way. Beyond simply being enjoyable, 12th Fail feels like a comforting experience, pointing out that there are numerous definitions of achievement and that unplanned changes in direction can result in rewarding outcomes. I definitely suggest seeing it!
