It's an enjoyable film that I’d happily revisit and suggest to others. The mystery woven into this romantic comedy appealed to me; while the premise isn't entirely believable, it was a pleasant change to see a genuinely decent male character portrayed. The effort required to connect with 100 girls is considerable, and though the central puzzle isn’t particularly intricate, it allows for substantial development of the characters as he investigates. Jonathan Tucker bears a resemblance to Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and I mean that as a compliment, but he does a commendable job leading the film without overpowering it. The supporting actors, including James DeBello, contribute significantly, and there are several recognizable faces: Larisa Oleynik ("Secret World of Alex Mack", "10 Things I Hate About You"), Katherine Heigl ("27 Dresses"), Jaime Lee Pressly ("Mom", "My Name is Earl"), and Emmanuelle Chriqui ("You Don't Mess With the Zohan"). The acting is strong, the writing is well-crafted, and the overall presentation is appealing, but the story’s structure results in a lot of disposable scenes. This might be typical for mysteries, but there isn’t much of a sense that one clue naturally follows another; instead, it's mostly 99 fruitless pursuits. Some clever touches at the film’s conclusion attempt to address this issue, but by that point, the main plot has concluded and I had lost interest. It’s a delightful romantic comedy where the unpleasant character is relegated to a secondary role, and I believe it’s definitely worth seeing.
