Speed Collection

The Speed Collection is a two-film series released between 1994 and 1997. The collection began with Speed (1994), directed by Jan de Bont, which follows LAPD officer Jack Traven as he confronts a bomber and extortionist. The second installment, Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997), was released approximately three years later. The decision to produce the second film involved original star Sandra Bullock, who agreed to reprise her role for financial reasons, while Keanu Reeves declined to return as Jack Traven. Consequently, Jason Patric was added to the cast as Alex Shaw, a new romantic interest for Annie. Willem Dafoe played the antagonist John Geiger in Speed 2. The collection's total runtime spans 241 minutes, and the combined budget was $190 million, generating $514.96 million in revenue. Speed achieved a rating of 7.3 on IMDb and grossed $350.45 million, while Speed 2: Cruise Control received an IMDb rating of 4.0 and earned $164.51 million. The series as a whole accumulated a total revenue of $514.96 million across both films.
