The film draws inspiration from Blind Harry's 15th-century poem and was adapted for the screen by Randall Wallace, featuring a cast that includes Sophie Marceau, Patrick McGoohan, Catherine McCormack, and Angus Macfadyen. The collection continued in 2019 with Robert the Bruce, directed by Richard Gray. This British historical film focuses on the renowned king of the same name, with Angus Macfadyen reprising his role from Braveheart. Robert the Bruce is a character-driven story exploring the king's relationship with a peasant family and its influence on his fight for independence and subsequent reign. Spanning from 1995 to 2019, the Braveheart Collection comprises a total of 302 minutes of film, with a combined budget of $72 million and revenue of $213 million. Braveheart alone generated $213 million in revenue, while Robert the Bruce earned $23.4 million.
